The purpose of this document is to walk through how to enroll an Android device into Microsoft Intune, sign into Outlook, and install an Intune available app.
2. Enroll with Android

Navigate to the Google Play Store on your device and download “Intune Company Portal”.

Once the company portal app has been downloaded, you can click on the Open button from the Play Store or navigate to your app drawer and open it from there.

Once opened, click on the Sign In button.

Enter your email address in the email address field and click Next.

Once the Okta sign-on prompt comes up, enter your Okta username and password. Make sure you check the “Remember me” checkbox. Click Sign In.

Once the prompt for send push comes up, you can either click the Send Push button if you are using Okta Verify or click the link “Or enter code” under if you would like the six digit code from google authenticator.

If you are using Okta Verify, you will receive a notification after clicking push. You can either click on the notification or navigate directly to the Okta Verify app. Once there, it will ask you to verify that it was you that attempted to sign in. Click “Yes, It’s Me”.

This will take you to a number verification screen. Switch back to the Company Portal app to get the number.

Back on the Company Portal app, there will be a number displayed in the middle of the screen. Remember that number and switch back to Okta Verify.

Back in Okta Verify, select the number that was being shown in the Company Portal app. Once it takes you back to the main Okta Verify screen, switch back to Company portal.

Once back in the company portal app, you will see a bell icon at the top right corner with 1 notification. Click on the bell icon.

Click on the “Company Access Setup is incomplete” notification.

This will take you to the BRP Access Setup screen. Click on Begin in the bottom right corner of the screen.

The privacy screen outlines what BRP will be able to see and not see on your device. Once done reading over this section, click Continue.

Intune will now set up a work profile on your device. The work profile will allow for a separation between your work applications and personal applications.

If you have a Samsung device, you might get this notice about setting up the work profile, click the Agree button. Other Android devices might have similar notices about setting up work profiles. Click Agree or similar if this comes up.

After Agreeing to setup the work profile, it will take you to a screen showing that it’s working on setting up your work profile.

Once it is done setting up the work profile, click on the next button at the bottom right of the screen.

It will take you back to the BRP Access Setup screen with a green checkmark on the “Create work profile” section. Click on the Continue button in the bottom right corner.

It will now register your device with Intune.

Once it’s done registering the device, it will take you back to the setup screen again but this time it will show that you’re all set with full green checkmarks. Click on the Done button at the bottom of the screen.

If it shows the “Your new work setup” screen, click the Got It button at the bottom of the screen.

It should have taken you back to the main Company Portal screen and show that you have a device under the devices tab now.

If you go back to your home screen and open your app drawer, you should see two tabs at the bottom. One for personal and one for work. Click on the work tab. It will show a mostly empty screen with apps that have a small blue briefcase icon on the bottom right corner.

All the required apps will install in the background and will show up on this screen. Your device is now enrolled into Intune.

3. Sign in to Outlook on Android

Navigate to the Outlook app in your work profile and click on it.

Once you are there, click on the Add Account button.

Enter your email address and click Continue.

It will ask if you want to add another account, click Maybe Later in the bottom left corner. This could take directly into your email. If it doesn’t, proceed to the next step.

If outlook didn’t automatically log you in, it will take you to a screen that shows “Get Access” with some green checkmarks. Click the Continue button at the bottom right.

Once the Okta sign-on prompt comes up, enter your username and password. Remember to check the “Remember me” checkbox. Click Sign In.

If you are using Okta Verify, click the Send Push button. Otherwise, click the “Or enter code” link below.

If you used the send push button, you would get a notification from Okta Verify about the sign in attempt. Click on the notification or manually navigate to the Okta Verify app. Once there and on the sign in attempt screen, click the “Yes, It’s Me” button in the bottom left.

After approving the sign in attempt, it will take you to a number verification screen. Switch back to Outlook to get the number it wants.

Back on Outlook app, find the number in the middle of the screen and remember it. Switch back to the Okta Verify app.

Back in Okta Verify, click on the number that was being shown in the Outlook app. Once it take you back to the main Okta Verify screen, switch back to Outlook.

Once back in Outlook, it should take you to your email and start updating it. You now have access to your email through the Outlook mobile app.

4. Installing available apps on Android

Not all apps are required when setting up Intune but could be available to download in your work profile if needed. To access apps that are available to download, navigate to your work profile and click on the Play Store app.

Once the work profile Play Store opens, you will see a list of apps available to download. Select the app you want to download.

On the app information screen, click on the Install button.

Once the app is done installing, it will give you the option to Open it. You can click Open here or navigate back to the work profile apps.

All apps download from the work profile Play Store will show under your work profile.
